Happening at Highlands this Fall…
Here at Highlands United Methodist Church, we have an exciting fall planned! Whether you’ve attended for awhile or are new to our community, now is the perfect time to get involved. As always, contact the office with any questions at 303-477-5857 or email@example.com. Weekly services – including many special Sundays – are every Sunday at 10am.
Sunday, August 20th from 9am to 1pm
Each year, Highlands UMC teams up with Bonfils to host a blood drive. Help to give someone the gift of life – make a donation right in the parking lot! Appointments are available from 9am through 1pm. Sign up here, and please be sure to review the donor requirements.
Sundays, August 27th-October 15th at 12pm
12-1:30pm, Sundays throughout the fall. Open to all youth 6th grade and older. Here at Highlands UMC, we hope to create a positive experience by focusing on the importance of each participant’s individual questions and experience of God. Contact Brandon at firstname.lastname@example.org to enroll or ask any questions!
Sunday, September 10th at 10am
Join us in welcoming back local band Thunder & Rain. Invite friends and family to this neighborhood tradition! In addition, we invite everyone to walk, bike, or carpool to worship on this Sunday. After, kids will ride to the Edison Elementary playground, and adults will ride around Sloan’s Lake.
New & Prospective Member Gathering
Sunday, September 17th at 11:30am
Whether you’ve recently become a member here at Highlands UMC or are considering membership, we invite you to share in a post-worship meal at Rev. Brad’s house. Get to know some fellow members, and learn more about some of our small groups. If you plan to attend, RSVP to email@example.com. We hope to see you there!
Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 1st from 12 to 2pm
On this special day every year, we stop to appreciate the amazing animals with whom we share our lives! After the Sunday service, we’ll take a moment to remember those pets who are no longer with us. Then, at noon, join Pastor Brad with your furry friends out in front of the Highlands Animal Clinic, just east of the church on 32nd Ave.
Saturday, October 21st at 7pm
We strive to be a church where people of all ages can feel at home. Come and celebrate with our newly confirmed tweens and teens!
Sunday, October 22nd at 10am
This year marks the 125th anniversary of Highlands United Methodist Church! Each and every person who joins us in worship, along with our many neighborhood partners, shapes this place and its community. Join us in worship and after as we mark this milestone with joyful music, a special sermon, and the sharing of food among friends and family.
Sunday, November 5th at 10am
Each year, on the first Sunday in November, we pause to remember all those who have come before us. Whether you’ve lost a loved one recently or are honoring the life of anyone who’s ever made a difference to you, All Saints’ Day is a meaningful occasion to remember those who’ve impacted our lives in community. If you have someone in mind whose name you’d like Rev. Brad to read during the in memoriam part of the service, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sunday, November 19th at 11am
We’ll enjoy a wonderful meal after worship in the Fellowship Hall. As we look gratefully toward Thanksgiving and the Advent season, we reflect on the blessing of church community. We’ll provide the turkey and vegetarian options for the main course – you bring the sides and dessert!
