As you may have noticed from the beautiful music in worship, Mallory Bernstein has joined the music staff at Highlands United Methodist Church. She is our new accompanist for services and for choir. We are fortunate that Mallory and her fiancé chose to come to Denver from Alaska. After completing her Master’s Degree from the University of Fairbanks, in Alaska, Mallory was accepted to pursue an Artist’s Diploma in performance from the University of Denver. She completes her Diploma this year with her final recital.
Mallory is excited to be here with us at Highlands United Methodist Church! She says she loves the caring and generous atmosphere at HUMC and thinks church music is a great complement to her other musical endeavors. She has just purchased a house in Park Hill and has put a studio in her basement. In addition to her work with us, Mallory has 25 private students, ages 8 to 82! In February she will be the guest soloist with the Aurora Symphony, where she will perform Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”
Mallory has performed all over the world. Ask her about her travels! Her musical interests are not strictly classical. In addition to her work at Highlands United Methodist Church, Mallory can sometimes be found performing with “Opera on Tap” and the “Evergreen Chorale”.
