christmas-stockings

Highlands United Methodist Church is proud to provide you with a Mission Update!  Some of the upcoming activities include:

A stocking drive for pre-school children in the Head Start Program. We already have several stocking stuffers gathered including small toys, coloring books and fruit snacks but we could also use pre-school size mittens for the cold weather.  All of us with Toddler’s in our lives know that little hands need covering, and like socks sometimes one gets dropped or lost and a spare pair is necessary!

New or gently used Hats,  Gloves, or Scarves are also being gathered to give to the homeless on our PB&J Saturdays.  Our recent burst of frigid air reminds us how important those items can be!  Look for the orange bin near the side entrance of the church!

Highlands United Methodist Church will also participate in a Children’s Gift Drive.  We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children under 12.  These gifts will be provided for children at three locations, The Tennyson Center for Children, Brent’s Place and Warren Village.

The Mission Team at Highlands United Methodist has established a week for our Mission Activity this summer.  We will be participating in a local Mission Activity the third week of July!   We are still nailing down the particulars but wanted you to have the opportunity mark your calendars now!!!
