Pride Month:

The entire month of June will focus on Pride Month. Sermons and Activities will center on our commitment to radical hospitality and God’s love for all people..


Farmer’s Market Summer kick-off June 1:

Highlands United Methodist Church will have a booth on select Sundays to connect with the neighborhood. One week the Missions Team will host a booth for folks to drop off donations and learn about service opportunities. On another, the Green Team will set up collections for our fruit gathering program. If your Team or Group would like to have the booth for a particular Sunday, let Pastor Brad know and he will work with you to get a date!!


June 11: Garden Care

We will work for an hour on Wednesday night to freshen up the garden and grounds before the giant (40,000) crowd for Street Fair. 

June 12: VBS registration begins!



June 22: Work Day at Church: Wear your work clothes to church and bring a lunch! We will enjoy one another’s company as we refresh our environment by cleaning, painting and performing some general maintenance in and around our building.



July Sermon topics:

Pastor Brad’s sermons will center on the Season of Creation. We will contemplate the Beauty of the Earth and the Environment as we enjoy the warm summer weather.



August will be Movie Month!

Starting July 27th, all will be invited to attend a movie after church on which the next weeks Sermon will focus. The featured movie on our enormous 12 foot by 12 foot screen, will begin at noon each Sunday after church. So… bring a snack lunch or grab something at one of our neighborhood eateries on these Sundays and join your friends at the Movies! The movies will include: The Lego Movie (PG), Broken Circle Breakdown (unrated- it’s international it’s a strong PG-13), Goonies (PG), and Philemena (PG13).


August 4-7 Vacation Bible School!

Highlands United Methodist Church will host a morning Vacation Bible School from 9am-12pm during the week of August 4th. This will be an exciting week for children ages four and up. We will explore the Workshop of Wonders and grow and build with God.


August 17th features a Blue Grass Service complete with a local band. Service will be held in the Giant Tent from “Taste of Highlands” the night before. We will worship with bluegrass gospel tunes at 10am and have a luncheon with concert at 11am.
