What a Weekend we had at Highlands United Methodist Church! Our Diaper drive finished up, we participated in the Highlands Square Harvest Festival and Trick or Treat Street!
Highlands United Methodist provided the parking lot and the Pumpkin Painting and Craft Booth. Pinot’s Palette helped us with the paint for the Pumpkins. Our preschool was one of the most popular places for kids to play and enjoy themselves- with amazing hands-on activities. We saw 2,500 folks from the community out enjoying the day. What an honor to be a part of hosting this wonderful West Highland neighborhood event.
Sunday evening, we capped off the day with a meditative Taize Service in the Sanctuary. Cantors, Choir, and Professional Musicians added to the prayers and silent meditation. The folks who attended (over 40 people) have been offering powerful feedback on how it offered them something they didn’t realize they had been missing.
Our Missions committee is also so grateful to have delivered over 40 boxes of diapers to Denum and Bienvenidos! Both pantries were excited to get the diapers as they are always in need. The majority of the collection came from our NorthWest Denver Neighbors who made use of the drop-off locations at our supportive local businesses.
