Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Highlands United Methodist Church, Denver

Family Promise offers Service Opportunities for HUMC members.  Highlands United Methodist Church is partnering with local United Methodist Churches in “Family Promise”, a faith based effort to help homeless families in transition. There are shelters for Men and shelters for Women, but there are few temporary shelters for families who have lost their residences.

Wheatridge United Methodist Church offers a night time place for families to stay together as they attend daytime programs to help them find solutions for their particular situation.

We have volunteered to take on one day’s responsibilities on Friday, May 22nd. Our responsibilities include: Driving families to the daytime program in the morning.   Driving them back from the daytime programs in the late afternoon. Providing dinner and fellowship from 5:30 until 8:30 in the evening at Wheatridge United Methodist Church and providing two overnight hosts to sleep in the church deal with any emergencies that may arise.

Click here to the Helping Hands Page of the website where you can sign up for the jobs within your comfort level under the Family Promise list. The members at Highlands United Methodist Church are known for being friendly, inclusive and caring. Family Promise provides a great opportunity to spread God’s Love beyond our church walls and provide for families in their time of need. I would like to help with the Family Promise day on May 22nd, but the link to their site doesn’t work. The HUMC Helping Hands link doesn’t list it, and the link for signing up included with your “Help” e-mail doesn’t function either. What am I missing?

The sign-ups are on our site, not Family Promise’s. They are on the Helping Hands page accessible through the button in the home page, or this link:
